I am a 27 year old Mechanical Engineer who has been working for the past three years at Icon Health and Fitness designing treadmills. I am now going back to school to pursue a Masters and hopefully a Ph.D. in the Manufacturing and Design areas of UC Berkeley. I have quite a bit of general and plastics design experience from my job (see resume), and hope to focus on research related to injection molding part design.
I have been married for almost five years to Melissa Odell, a biologist. Her interests are in companion animals and we currently have a Goffin's Cockatoo and a Wire-haired Dachshund. We have previously had Lizards and Amphibians of many types including: Ceratophries ornatus and Pipa pipa frogs, Solomon Island Monkey tailed tree skinks, Iguanas, Uromastyx, and Jackson's chameleons. We also have a 29 gallon fresh tank and a 55 gallon Salt water tank that is currently in storage.
My hobbies include movies, reading, gaming, and Guitar, among others. Published Guitar teacher Mike Christiansen directed my guitar studies for one and a half years during my stay in Logan in the area of Jazz Improvisation. I have played in two local bands Skooch and Two for Flinching and I hope to form up with another band in Berkeley. Two for Flinching cut a self produced CD entitled "Forever." You can listen to a sample of one of my songs composed for Two for Flinching here (future addition). I am also currently looking for a guitar (and possibly voice) teacher. Of games, I just purchased a Cyberball arcade game (which I am very happy about). I spent countless hours (and quarters) on this game as a teenager, but haven't been able to find one to play on recently. I'd always had it in mind to pick one up, and the time seemed right.
My current courses consist of Design of Planar Machiner, Advanced Manufacturing Processes, and Introduction to the Management of Technology. I am most excited by the Design of Planar Machinery.
My current home project is the creation of a grief related website at
EverandEver.com.
